Default Ordering X50 - Any known, ongoing problems?

I'm going to order an X50 (blue). Are there any known issues with the current software or hardware on the Escort X50 of which I should be aware? I'd like to know what I'm getting into before I get it! Thanks.

Well, I am the first one to report this issue. But it is really likely its the detector, not the firmware.

Well that's a long thread. Can you summarize it for me? And, I hope you're wearing your lead underwear when you're doing those tests. Ouch!

I did watch that. Blue went berzerk when faced with a close proximity blast. Does it act up under normal cirmumstances? Oh, and why do you own both colors (backup)?

No, the red has served my gf well for about a year- and got a self cal message once. I decided to go ahead and ask roy if I could get a replacement, and he sent me out another so I wouldnt have to drive unprotected, and I will be sending the red in to him soon. (yes I added more money in to make it a blue )

This is one of the many reasons why I beleive no one can really top roys service.

stop worrying about it and just do it - you can always sell it if you dont like it. its just as good as the other top units. if you took all 3 top units - dropped them in a bag - and blindly chose one - you would be just fine.
all of them have issues every now and then - buy from roy and get great service just in case. what more could you ask for.

You're probably the first one (here) to fire on a Rev 6.1 point blank with a radar tester.

If you got one self-cal in a year, and don't get another one, you're probably ok. It's when you get more than one within a short time period, or Service Required, that you have a problem.

And yes, Roy is great to deal with. I got my X50 from him.
