The Eval Continues....

I said "eval" not "evil." I took a look at the V1. Now it's Escort's turn.

I just received my X50/Blue today. It's bigger (longer) than I expected. I think it's actually longer than the V1, but narrower.

Anyway, is there anything I need to do to start off? Programming? My main driving is in NJ, PA, DE. I will be soon taking a trip into Ohio. Are there any settings I should make or is it good to go out of the package?

most of the setings are more for personal tastes

yes the X50 is longer than the V1 but the V1 is much wider

i find that i prefer mine in city standard mode with the expert display. it hardly ever falses and the range has been excellent. i picked up a leo at 1.7 miles on k band the other day on the interstate.

maybe turn pop on...I like it on up here in NY

mine falses with pop on when passed by cheap detectors. so much so i had to turn it off.

That's my next question. Should I turn POP on? Does it necessarily cause falsing? Isn't POP in use in Ohio? I don't think I need to worry about it for the rest of my territory, right (PA, NJ, DE)?

x2, i had POP on for a grand totoal of 3 hours and my head felt like itd explode all sound like quick full Ka alerts contantly............I leave it off since theres no POP units here (only radar are Stalkers K and Ka-bands).......it might be worth while to use it if it really is a threat but it still hard to distingush between a trained LEO using POP or a dumb kid running a Cobra
