I'm gonna go back to BB tonight to exchange for the blue, and purchse my product replacement plan for $40 for 2 yrs. I feel like $40 to REPLACE not send in to fix is a good investment. Maybe the new will be better than the .6 miles of Ka that my current unit gets.[/quote]

Yet to be tested but I think that since Bel STI seemed to have copied the V1.7 laser diode design even using two of them at a 45 degree angle like VR did,
IMHO Bel STI will show at least a second place winner on laser reception.

Um thats odd, because what about VeilGuys testing that shows the X50 above the STi in laser?

    Here: http://www.laserveil.com/laser-detec...ice-laser-gun/

In that testing the Top 4 go (as most would expect), V1, X50, STi, RX65.

Looks like you are right AirMoore, I forgot about that test.
You were not around when JTW made videos of the X50, Sethy's V1.8, Veilguy's 1.8, X50, RX65, and my 1.7
The X50 did terrible against quick triggering radar and laser testing.
My old 1.7 even picked up the stealth mode laser gun, but failed POP mode since it was not POP ready.
In all fairness JTW did buy his X50 off e-bay so maybe he got a bad one?

Hmmm, no I wasnt around at that point, so I just went off of VeilGuys testing, since he is very professional and unbiased in testing IMO (which I am sure you guys were, so dont get me wrong there), and pretty scientific too. It very well could have been ebay that was the issue (as we all know its just not the way to go for RD's), or even some manufacturers variance...

I just went by the most recent testing I knew which was the link I posted that shows the V1 ahead on laser the X50 behind it, the STi just a bit behind that, then the RX65 well below.

ahh nice to see the X50s Laser effectiveness, especially against the LZ1

If the x-50 is that good at laser then why is everybody dissing on it saying that it doesn't do crap for laser... ?? Mine picked it up when i lowered it just above the windsheild wipers when i got hit ...it was either a pro laser 3 or a stalker lz1 maybe even the ultralyte not sure?? But it picked it up right away once i lowered off of my visor bracket to suction's..??

Because once you get hit with laser the odds are overwhelming that the LEO already has your speed, it doesnt matter what detector, V1, X50 what-have-you, the odds of picking up scatter before your targeted (realistically as a defense against laser) are terrible.

So just because the X50 is good on laser without (minimum) LS and Veil your still pretty much SOL, the same can be said for the V1 for that matter.

maybe a stupid question, but why doesnt belscort adopt that fancy parabollic whatever-ator lense thet VR uses? Or something similar if there is a patent issue. I would still like to be able to detect laser with my x50 munted high, even if it only means I should just pull over.

True but that has been known for ever all Laser is on a radar/laser detector is a ticket notifer that has been a known fact for many a year it is only a sales ploy to get you to purchase there detcetor like you said picking up scatter you have probably got better chances of being hit by lightning than picking up laser scatter the v1 seems to have the best luck with this .... But It wouldn't save you from a ticket id say atleast 99 percent of the time if it where to go off your already screwed all its saying is hey your being targeted ohhh thanks for the early warning you peice lol!! Hmm i wonder if maybe we could target electronical leakage from a laser gun like they did to us with our detectors is and would this be possible if so i think i might have found a way!!! HMMM They have to leak some kind of a electronic signal not just laser light it takes power to make light even if your sun ??? IDeas Ideas could this maybe be the advanced detection system we are looking for ...?? Maybe it even leaks in a certain range>>?? I wish somebody would do a test on this it might be benifial !! If they do create some kind of leakage then maybe we could pull a rdd style pick up on there arse!!!

    HMMM IDEAS???--
