x50 question, not range or detection capability for once
Hey guys, I just got my X50. First thing I noticed (and that's bothering me), is the fact that the plug that goes into the cigarette lighter makes a pretty crappy connection! I REALLY have to stuff it in there for it to make connection. My ipod module and cell charger don't require that much effort. I dont know how you to give you an idea of the force required, but I plug it in, then have to PUSH it in again for it to turn on. Is this normal or what?
No the X50 actually has a pretty nice little connection in all the cars I have used it in... try it in other cars you shouldnt have the same problem... if you do it would be worth hardwiring it (anyways), instead of replacing the coiled 'smartcord'.
You could also get a splitter 1-to-2 or 1-to-3 to connect into your outlet, so that way you could use the X50, cell phone and ipod all at one time. (Its just a few bucks but its worth it... and maybe the X50 would fit into that).
A little tip (do not force it)... its not doing the cigeratte outlet, or the X50 any good.
x2, the mult socket adaptors work real nice, but hard wiring is good too, I hard wired mine and now my lighter port is free for my G-Timer, which will stay a permanant resident of my car, since the X50 plug works for it I might hardwire that tooOriginally Posted by AirMoore

im just wondering whether it's a deffective smartcord or what. good idea on trying it in other cars. Right now, if i reach to mute it, i'll basically unplug it, that's how bad the connection is
maybe this was already covered but did you take off the euro adapter that it comes with? that would probably make it just fat enough to where you would have to jam it into a USA lighter plug... just a thought
