    Default Has anyone done this?

Keep your Escort 8500 at the tint line faceing the front and have another radar detector faceing the back on the back window to pick up behind the car or is the 8500 so good you dont need anything since i know that the 8500 is awesome at picking up long distance from the front?

Thats why god invented the V1. It has one antenna facing front, one facing back.

    Default true that!!

This is one of the many reasons i am switching to the v1 it has much better detection ... and has a rearward facing antenna and bogey counter and tracker.. which makes it much easier to spot a bogey... but belscort has undetectablity which is nice but what is the purpose unless you live in one of these areas anyways..?? The v1 makes up for this in detection and it can pick up laser atlanta in stealth mode no other detector can do this...

a buddy of mine said he was doing something like that, see the alert thriugh the RVM and hear audio as well (yeah right) he was running older units but thats what he was doing for a while... all in all I think rear detection is good enough( or IMO almost pointless... hey look youre speeding, if hes behind you he can get your speed off his speedo without having to touch the RADAR and if he did use it, Oh look brake lights)... if rear matters to you though, I agree with everybody else... get a V1

Rear detection on my x50 is almost identical to the front maybe a little bit less sensitive dropping off at most 100yds before a previously established point where the signal was picked up when I was going towards the source (based on tests run with a K band speed sign on a straight highway near where I live drove towards it then a u-turn and drove away from it.) Maybe escort snuck a rear antenna into mine.

I guess if you already have more RDs than cars, why not?

PS, as long as you do a few test runs and confirm that one unit doesn't interfere with the other.

Oh oh, maybe we need a 12-step program.

    Default the rear tageting

If a Leo is behind you if you hit your brakes to stop your a neron and don't deserve to own a radar detector or license for that matter because everybody knows what do brake lights me your doing somthing wrong or your going to fast so down shift use engine brakeing wella your plan of him nailing you due to your brake lights just went down the drain...

And yes he could be using vascar from the rear this is why you should be looking around constantly in your side mirrors rear view etc and to your sides and front.

well even if you use engine braking, sometimes there is a noticable difference in engine noise, and your front end will dip in slightly (or greatly depending on how dumb you are), either way youre slowing down at a noticable rate

I'm afraid that's an unavoidable if you don't want a ticket.
