I've notice that when I'm beside 18 wheelers I get KA falses.
My guess is that their CB's are setting my detector off. This
happens too often to be a real threat bouncing off the trucks
trailer. Has anyone experienced this as well?

Some do run radar detectors (mostly cheap ones found at truck stops). Or it could be a Vorad System (getting more use everyday). It is a crash avoidance system that uses a pulsed radar and Doppler radar system to notify the driver of objects beside them in their blind spots and it will also let them know if they are following to close i.e. Tailgating. The antenna is located in or above the bumper for the front and on the side, just above the fuel tanks.Originally Posted by Orbital75
I have had it happen twice with my X-50. I would get a Ka alert on the highway and once I would pass the semi, it would die down in strength. I then would slow down and let the semi pass me and the alert would increase again. It does not happen to me offen, but I have seen the same problem.
never happened with mine, but somebody should check this by putting their x50 in spec display and see what frequency it displays :?:
That's why i use spec mode all the time. I have found this feature the best and i think this feature has not been maximize by others. It simply narrows down the threat specially in Ka band.
