Default What color display for your x50 and why?

    Hey guys,
I have a question for you, and that question is as follows:

"Which color display did you opt for on your 8500 x50 and why?"

Basically, I know that the difference between the two is the color, and that they say blue is easier on the eyes, but I want YOUR opinons. Was blue really easier on your eyes? Did the red match your interior? Your favorite color is red?

**NOTE** Im sorry if this was a thread before, I realize I'm new here, but I'm not new to forums in general. I have used the search function to try and locate a thread like this but never found one. I am very interested in this subject, and are having a very hard time deciding on which radar detector to go with.

I have blue, it cannot be washed out by the (direct) sunlight, as red displays can be... its that simple, granted it does look cooler too, that (coolness) is not the main reason for Blue over Red.

-A side note: You said many feel the Blue is easier on the eyes, during the day yes but during the night actually many old people  (and or V1 zombies) say it is actually hard on their eyes... thats because it is SOOO bright. With that said on the lowest brightness (dim) setting, you shouldnt really have any problem at night. It can be distracting though to some people... it just does that, if that seems to be a problem, thats why there is the dark mode, and smart cord.

My first 8500 I just bought with the red display because I couldn't justify dropping $40 more just for the color. However, a month ago when that detector crapped out, I traded up to the blue display and I absolutely love it. Like has been said, it is easier to see in direct sunlight and it is pretty bright at night, but I either switch to the dimmest setting or switch it into stealth mode so that I don't have any followers and it is great.

Plus, there's just a cool factor to having the blue display!

Blue. It is easier to see in all lighting conditions, plus it just looks better. Plus, most detectors only have red, so it's kinda unique

I got red because my entire car has a red on black theme. Blue would have looked retarded. It's also IMO not worth an extra 40 bucks

Red looks fine in direct sunlight at the highest brightness, I think that's a lame excuse to pay an extra 40 dollars. I do think the blue looks cooler, I think that's really the only reason why people get it.

Blue just hurts your eyes at night. I used to have blue neons and other blue themed lights but they hurt my eyes. I drove from boston to new jersey and it was just painful. Red is a looot smoother at night and more relaxing.

ps. my interior looks something like this so you can imagine why I got the red version:

I think anyone with an blue themed interior should definitely get the blue. To me, it's all about color coordination.

i chosethe red cuz i couldn justify the $40 more for the blue with it having the same performance.... not to mention my interior would not have gone well with the blue. but the blue is very very cool....... by th eway the red display dooesn wash it out sunlight for me.... and not hard on the eyes at night at the brightest setting
