Total X50 newb question

I have heard talk around the forum that it's an over heating display. Basically it shows the Detector is scanning and hasn't locked up from a heat issue. For instance your traveling in the desert and the hot sun is beating down on your detector. If the Dot freezes your detector isn't scanning any longer and has over heated.

When my dot freezes I just flick the unit with my finger and it starts scanning again....like it was stuck or something....

I think it would look sick if the dot went back and forth instead of left to right the whole time.

Maybe it will have it in the new Escort detector, when it comes out in the next year??????????????

They could make the case out of chrome and call it the Cylon.

in addition to his new question whats the difference between 8500 and 8500 x50..when was the x50 put into making etc etc
