K band issue

I just purchased an escort x50 blue on Friday, everything seemed fine until a day later I started noticing that k band would go off full power and stay on for about 10 min. or about 4 to maybe 6 miles.

Is this normal?

Should I take back to store? Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Please help a newbie to radar detectors and this forum.

do you mean it would alert full alert for like 10 mins???

do u drive an audi q7?

It goes on full alert in k band mode all the time, I went out this evening it must have gone off and stayed on for about 10 minutes, about 4 or 5 times, both on the highway and in the city. I was out for about 2 hours, 1 hour going down to miami, 1 hour back. What could I be doing wrong?

Speaking of radar detectors, it might just be my particular Z but my Bel 980 constantly shows radar where I know none exists. Bel said that some high-output engines do emit signals that will set off radar detectors.

engines that are heavy in electronics might do something too, if any of that stuff leaks, by this stuff I mean like Drive-by-wire and stuff like that

I had a false this morning while I was sitting in my school's parking lot. My X50 held a full K-band detection for at least 30 seconds. A guy at my school drives a 2006 Audi A4. Is this what caused it?
