    Default Weird K detection...

Yesterday I was driving from Orlando to Gainesville and had a few but wierd K encounter maybe falses.

1st. Dirving inside Orlando, I got a weak K alert, I keep driving and it gets stronger to about half (exp. mode) then it goes back down and dissapears. So at first I thought it would have been a cop driving by and he turned and I lost the signal, never saw the cop.

2nd. Driving on the Highway, got a K band the same happens, it started weak then went to half then it went back sown then dissapeared, never saw the cop, but the was a couples of cars driving south bound maybe the cop was there.

3rd. Same situation but this time the signal stayed for about a mile, then it went back down.

I got to Gainesville and tried it against a false and it looked fine.

The worst part is that it came back from Escort not even a month ago and they changed the antenna.

    What do you guys think?

I'm don't think so because there wasn't a Bridge or anything that could look like a drome. And I don't think my X50 could give me a mile alert for a drone.

Was there any construction? Sometimes they put drones at construction sites and in those huge signs with all the orange lightbulbs that point arrows and tell messges.

If you conclude that these really are complete falses, try resetting the unit.

However, I've never encountered a situation where my X50 came up with an alert out of absolutely nowhere. Most likely, there's gota be some source. Especially since it happened 3 times. Unless your unit really is defective..

Ive never gotten a real cop alert on the K band in Orlando. All have been some sort of K band door opener. Out on the highway, I wouldnt know. Havent been up to Gainsville, yet. Plan on going up there to visit some friends...then maybe up to Tallahasee.

    Not that I remember

One of the times which was for about half a mile was by one of the places where you can stop for gas and eat at the turnpike, I thought it was the normal false (door opener) that gives me one bar for like 5 secs max but it kept going and going getting stronger so it look like a cop, but them when it got to half it went back down and then no alert. Maybe a cop shooting from behing to the south bound.

Gainesville yeah I know almost all if not all the falses in my normal route in gainesville and it would give the alert at the normal spot.

it could be stores or other junk detectors (some pos detectors can give either k or ka false alerts) but if your detection range is fine when you encounter a real leo there's nothing wrong with your rd. And be carefull olrando is 2nd on the list for worst radar cities in usa

This is a good point, I have had Cobras (and other red-light specials) cause false alerts of both K&Ka band(s) on my X50/V1... it very well could be another detector.

I hate to say it because it could cause a riot but the arrows on a V1 would have pointed right where to look so that you wouldn't be waiting for somebody else to answer your question on this forum.
