Custom hardwire on escort 8500

Can i use a modular phone cord as a direct hardwire ?

Dont really want to spend like $30 when i can do it myself for like $8..

Just use a regular 4 wire phone cord with the standard RJ-11 connector, be sure to use some kind of fuse!

i went to radioshack and asked them for the RJ11 cord for a custom hardwire for my escort and he said..."you cant do that" the phone cord and the escorts cord is totally different...

i was gonna smack him :twisted:

then he was like "what kinda escort do you have ? the 7200 ? "

then i started staring at him...and hes like yeah i have that and i detected the cop like 7 miles away...

and i continued to stare at him....

grabbed the cord and paid for it at the cashier....
