Escort X50 Ver.5

Hey guys,

Im found alot of good information from reading this forum so decided to register. I bought X50 4 months ago at best buy and didnt know what ver. it was until i read one of the topics on how to check version. thanks bunch.
Does anyone know if escort will upgrade to latest ver. which is 6.1 ( latest from what i heard) for free ? or do i have to buy another detector because
5 and 6.1 different in hardware

Quick summary...6.1 is simply hardware change over 5. You'll most likely have to return that one and get a new 6.1 if you REALLY want it. If you've read many posts about the differences, you'll see that there really are no performance differences between the versions.

If there is no performance difference then I should be ok. This detector is great, i really like it. It is really hard to get a good range because most if not All cops in minneapolis use Ka and its always instant on but even with that X50 always alerts with at least 1/4 mil at almost full strenght.

Yea...it's definitely a great detector. I've only had mine for a little while, but it's already saved me several times. Actually the night after I got it it saved me about 3 times. :shock: I was kind of asking to get caught though so I could really test her out.
