I took the red display cover off of my 8500 and put it on my X50, and now the display is purple. I couldnt get a picture of it, both the cameras here have the pic showing up blue, but I assure you it is purple. I think its sweet.

x2. I've taken pictures of purple stuff - and weirdly - it comes up purple in the picture.
Try turning off your flash.
I knew that s**t would work, but my friend wouldnt let me borrow his X50 for 10 minutes so I could try it out
