so im approaching this road which is 90 degrees to the road im on, and as i near it the X50 goes off, with 2 Ka alerts one a little stronger then the other, well i make a right hand turn and one of the alerts starts to increase while the other remains the same, well .6 mi down the road i pass the Leo and about .2 mi later one Ka drops, so im like ok cool now were is the other sucker. Well i approach a long light and get stopped by the red, my X50 starts to ramp up on the one Ka alert and i look in my rearview mirror and see another LEO behind me approaching. It all made sense i was very please how the X50 picked up

1.) Ka alerts at a perpindicular angle
2.) in correctly identified two sources
3.) it has good rear detection

I will admit it wouldve been nice to have the arrows to identify the multi threats in this case, but really it wouldnt of changed anything, i still wouldve driven the speed limit. Very impressed with my rev. 5 X50 so far.

That is impressive, and why the multi-threat display is so important.

IMO, i don't think it will really matter because your Ka alert is still telling you that the threat is still there regardless of what mode your are in. At first, that was my impression that the knowing that there are 2 bogeys would be great but finally realized that your X50 will still alert you when there is a continued radar source around. You still have to slow down while the threat is there. Great experience though with your X50.

I have also had several very good encounters with radar to the side... plenty of warning.

Yeah, you have a point there, but the showing of 2 bogeys, and their individual signal strength didn't 'hurt' the situation by any means.

A detector that could only show a single Ka threat (or the X50 in STD meter) would have done just as well... as long as the RD user was smart I get your point there, its the old 'when you get an alert, slow down' method, which smart RD users use to keep themselves safe.

    Still a nice warning though.

EDIT: Spec mode would have been cool here too, as he passed the first LEO, the frequency should have switched to the 2nd LEO's Ka frequency (as it would then be the stronger of the two signals)... again STD mode would have worked just fine, just cool to have the other meters.

Hopefully, escort will add a rear antenna for version 9 With alfa numeric warning - Ka F (front) and Ka R (rear). No arrows needed.
