I'm getting to hear the grass grow. New feature.
You'll love it...Just wait till you drive through Downtown ATL..
yeah - cant wait. its 9:30 - it should be here in the next half hour. by 11:00 i'll have all my local falses programmed and will be looking for our local sherriffs dept. running there constant K Band. As a matter of fact - i might be feeling kinda bad and have to leave work early today. it is friday after all.(Cough / Cough).
i got popped with laser up around the airport yesterday - maybe i'll take a ride up there again and see if the east point guys are out harassing people again.
Now that's hardcore.....taking off work/calling in sick....to go hunt hits....Originally Posted by BullyDawg19
its here - all i can say is wow right now. after a 15 minute drive to try it out this thing works really well. very easy to use. voice commands are clear. i locked out a couple places and left it in auto and it performed as expected. i ran past a constant K on the strip coming the other way but was past the last lockout spot to try it. my best guess right now is it is an 8500 x50 with lots of nice new features. i did wonder right off the bat if there was something wrong because it took about 2 minutes to find the satellites but it takes only about 4 seconds now. it literally locks on when it is finished starting up. i do like the new display position. it looks more natural for some reason. i also like the little satellite icon in the right corner. it makes the display look better when running auto or city.(i always had a problem with the mode always being on the left of the display no matter what mode you were in. it seemed to me it would look better centered in the display.) now with the other icon it doesnt seem that bad. oh well - seems like im running a bit of a fever and my throat is scratchy. i really think i should go home.![]()

You do sound like you are coming down with something....don't want to spread it at work. Keep us posted.
The first time a GPS powers up in a new location or after not having been used for a very long time, it will always take much longer than subsequent times. People over in gps forums like www.geocaching.com or www.gpspassion.com refer to this as a "cold start."Originally Posted by BullyDawg19

Ahhh yes. East Point is notorious for staging themselves on a bridge over I-285 and Lasering folks as they approached, then on the other side of the bridge on the "on" ramp is a line of squad cars ready to roll!Originally Posted by BullyDawg19
