I too am in a rural area with no LASER being used. A year ago the only real concerns on Ka were the Stalkers being run by the SP, and all but 10% of the locals running K-Band Decaturs & Kustoms. In that year's time the locals have upgraded almost all of their units to Decatur Genesis II's @ 35.5gHz & Talon II's.
Perfomance is based on what the local threats are that one faces. Previously the V1 was the better answer based on the prior threat mix. But with the better performance of the RX-65 on 35.5gHz, it now gets the nod. Getting caught up in the endless Chevy vs Ford debates simply increases your chances of receiving a citation. If I faced K-Bands threats most of the time, the V1 is the hands down choice in performance. If I drove mostly at night the V1 becomes the choice. If I commuted through suburban & urban areas the rx-65 would be on the dash.
Blanket all encompassing statements of performance concern me, especially when my daily commute points out the many holes in that blanket.
