Default X50 false laser reading on power surges?

HAve you guys noticed with the X50, when you start the car the laser warning will come on at the same time... or when you throttle intermittently, surging voltage that the device will false Laser?

V1 does this too on mercedes at start... and when i honk the horn. very distracting.

Sounds like you have a voltage issue with your car(s) and not a problem with your detectors.

Check the battery and/or alternator to insure that your detector is getting the required 12 volts.

Many forum users (myself included) have noticed that when voltage drops it can cause false laser alerts on a number of different detectors

I have a 8500, I just got a Acura MDX and when I put my car in park the laser goes off intemittantly. My car is set so the doors unlock when I put the car in park. I did not have this problem on my previous car.

    Any ideas?

My X50 falses on laser like that once in a while. Not all the time. Funny, in the truck, if I leave it plugged in and start it up, I get a quick laser false. I try to unplug it when I can remember.

Monitoring my VOltage meter on the car and the X50. Car voltage meter is steady.

My V is not dropping, it rises everytime i step on the gas and the laser is going off every time as well. Very annoying. 14.5V is the last number before it goes off. Normal crusing is in the 13 range. Engine off, key to power on and it is 12.X V.

    Anyone else have this issue?

    My voltage reading is 14.1 - 14.3
My car's voltage stays high. Doesn't drop at all, but we did have to jump start it 2 weeks ago after not running the car for 3 weeks. But didn't have to jump it since then, BUT, since then, I cannot use my X50 in that car cause of the laser going off all the time. And, Escort claims the voltage has nothing to do with it.

My in-operation voltage is typically 14.2 to 14.4 - I've seen 14.5 on- occasion, but don't peak above that, though.

I have not had voltage-related laser (or otherwise) falsing problems on my x50 (Rev5), but I do have this, occasionally, on my ZR3's rear Shifter.

My manual unfortunately doesn't say anything about the actual *range* of operating voltage.......
