    Default The Mount:

Here's the setup in my car (2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV) with an Escort Passport 8500 x50.

    Here's the overall view:

Here's the hardwired smartcord, tucked away:

    Here's where I put my 8500x50:

blue tint can effect your rd range. lower could improve your range.

Looks like you could mount it parallel with your rearview and you would have a stealthy install and clear sight of the road.

When I had my x50, I could mount it behind the blue and it'd still perform extremely well. That said, I also mounted my friend's v965 in the same location and pretty much picked up nothing over the span of a 1200 mile trip

^ I thought the darker tint-bands only (potentially) negatively impacted laser detection range - not radar?

Mounted that high he's not really looking to catch any LIDAR anyway.

hmmmm. I've always ran my detector behind the tint strip because I've never cared for laser detection. I highly doubt it could effect radar but who knows.

I've ran it up high, behind the Ford factory green tint, and I've never had problems with radar or laser.
