Explanation of the 9500I & TrueLock info (Tricks)

I've had my 9500i less now for a week and I updated it, and it loaded ok.

However I have noticed that when I went to lock out a couple of local door openers I went to press the "mute" 3 times but for some reason it said it was locked out before I pressed it 3 times.

I need to look at this a little closer one day and see just what its doing. Are you supposed to press it 3 times and how fast?

It was always 3 on the 9500I, however it only announces 2 times, the first time is to mute, 2nd is to lock?, and the 3rd is stored.

Is autolearn an risk with highway driving inside city limits or only with city street driving where automatic doors are closer to the road?

It is a risk wherever you lock out a location. If a LEO is running the same band as the locked out signal in a locked out area, then you won't receive a warning on your 9500ci.

It is a risk if you lock out a location where the local LEO's use the same band and frequency as the lock out and sit in the same 1/2mi radious. There could be a LEO lock out if this happens.

As far as Risk I will simplify my Risk Scenarios for you.

1) In city or dense false locations where its difficult to speed and where police X/K band isn't used, lock out X/K band falses the first time you encounter them. (No Risk) AutoLearn will work well for these areas too.

2) On highways and areas where police do use K/X band You probably wont want to lock this point out. (Low/High Risk)
But you could if LEO's never sit there and your smart about it. Detection range will usually trump the small lock out area in the first place and provide ample warning/alert before the lock out point (react to any alert no matter how small). But you must always proceed with your own discretion/caution and best judgment in areas like this weather you lock out or not.

Had an open post here so figured i would put my newest 9500CI install here:

For the antenna I had a custom mount that got attached to the grill inside. The heads he did similarly with the mounts. Lots of shaving/cutting to get it right.
It took about 6hrs Tuesday and a few hours Wednesday fine tuning and making things right. Acura installs are always tough, with such limited room to work with.
Everything is so tightly fit to utilize space efficiently, its very difficult to do anything with this car. But when done its nice.

Rear shifter. would block the plate lights so i installed it lower.

I was able to fit both jammers in the front and the radar antenna as well. Jammers were difficult to get level and so they wouldn't be toed in or out. Hopefully them being close together will work better for center mass shots.

The control pad is installed by the heated seat switches. I was surprised how small it was, but disappointed there was no GPS on/off button.

The display fit perfect by my clock. The GPS receiver is just in front of the center speaker under the dash (works flawlessly).

Left is my DROID with Google maps & additional APP's like tapster, below that is my iPod touch. At night my car looks like a space ship, its quite cool. Especially with everything in blue. Maybe ill take a night shot and post it.

Still have my 9500ix up high, and now leave it in Spec mode.
