Well it looks like I'm going to be the proud new owner of a Escort 8500x50, picking it up tomorrow.![]()
I'm not sure what Rev. it is but it was too good a deal to pass up.
Looking forward to seeing how it stacks up against my XTR-690!

Wow I like how you have a "day" and "night" detector.
Why don't you just use the V1 all the time?
Your going to enjoy your new X50. I've been running mine
since 2004 ( No Tickets Ever ).
You will be impressed with it's filtering, trust me.
yeah, the thing is xtr 690 is extremely quiet and sensitve at the same time and during day where i live very few cops run radar and even when they run it is mostly ka and 690 is very good at pickin it up, so i prefer 690 all day but at night the cops really put on a SHOW here and i need max protection with v1.
v1 is a saver for me at night when i cant see cops and i depend on arrows totally.
You mean filtering in Auto mode, or in HWY?Originally Posted by Orbital75
Well, I never run AutoMode, don't trust it.Originally Posted by Silverstreak98
I usually run Highway mode on the interstate but
for anything non interstate, I run City.
As far as the filtering, I meant the Detector in general.
It's very good at it's job of suppressing Supermarket doors
and such.
One quick question......how do I check the Rev. when I get it?
What you'll need to do is With the Detector off,
Hold down all Three Buttons and Turn the unit on.
Two of the Buttons are located on the top of the detector ( City and Dim )
The Third button is located on the very front ( Mute )
This will make your Rev display as the detector is booting up.
Just a Note, If you do this in the future, it will clear all your
settings and put the detector back to it's default factory state.
Thanks for the info! I will check the Rev. right away once I get it, fingers crossed for Rev 5.
