I love the volt meter in the 8500/X50

Now that I have a v1 i do not have this feature, where can i get a volt meter that plugs into the cig lighter?

I think if the V1 had a text display I would have really thought harder before going for the X50.

Next time I'm up for a new detector (2007-ish, I want to get alot of use out of this one) I'll probably get a V1.

I agree. I really like the volt readout of the x50. Gives it a job to do when its not checking for radar... 8)

Why not buy a used one from ebay and run the X50 in one car, and the V1 in your other vehicle - assuming you have multiple vehicles. If not, then do your own road test with both in the same vehicle. Just disable the X band on one of them. Sounds good, as I'm not the one footing the bill! Ha Ha

Why will you disable the X band when doing the test with both the V1 and the X50 in the same vehicle? Can you elaborate more on the reasons why you have to disable X band. I wished for every forum member if they can afford to do it to try all top 3 RD's at the same time instead of buying one radar at a time. You surely will get very good info with it.
