Great range so far from the 8500 x50

It seems as though all the car chp units around here run CO KA, I normally encounter them coming the other way. From first blip to when we are even is usually about a mile and a half and i figure if I'm doing 80-85 and he's doing 65-70 then i'm getting 2 - 2.5 miles normally over semi hilly terrain.

Needless to say I am very happy with my detector.

The more you use it the more you're going to enjoy having it.

Be careful though, I drove around a good month and began to think I had them figured out in my area, always seemed to be either IO or CO Ka band. Just as I was starting to think even having K band enabled was a waste I got an alert from a County LEO using CO K band. Now I seem to run into these County LEO's using their K band all over the place. Prior to these, and even before having a detector I don't recall ever even seeing County LEO's any where I drive, maybe the detector lured them into me like a LEO magnet?

i know what you mean but I love hearing it go off even with falsies, so i leave it in highway and have everything but pop turned on.

I like to know its working so a few extra beeps here and there let me know it's not malfunctioning

after having my x50 just under 1 year i really got to test out the range..i was going down a road which had a few hills got my first alert 3 miles before..there was a cop who had pulled someone over on the other side of the road
