Just out of curiosity, what setting do you use for the display (pilot) screen? Also, do you guys use Standard signal strength meter, expert meter or spec display?

i like the display with highway for two reasons. highway doesnt filter like auto can. also when it spells out highway; i tend to notice when it picks up a reading out of the corner of my eye better when i am driving.
I use Pilot H. > because its the most stealthy so i wont be that guy driving down the road with a red (or in my case blue) light beaming out my back window. I actually saw a guys RD from almost 1mi away because it was so bright.
I also use Expert mode for that same reason besides the obvious.
I voted +.>. I forget whether I currently have it set to that or H.>. It lives in my wife's car so I don't see it often.
Spec display for me. I'm a geek, I like frequencies.![]()

Same here. Since I have mine mounted high, its easier to notice when it changes to an alert. I cannot always here it since I'm usually jamming to Metallica.Originally Posted by kgalvin

Scanning + FTWAlthough, lately, I've been running V mode just to check up on how many volts I'm running since I changed to U/D pullies. I'll probably be changing back since I'm not noticing and battery drain.
Oh, and of course, Spec mode.![]()
dim "H" only and multiple threat mode
Pilot H.>
I like the scanning dot only as some have reported that they've seen their dot "freeze," and only then noticed that there was something wrong with the unit.
The single-letter mode-indicator also does reduce the unit's visual display profile a bit.
As for how the unit alerts, visually, I like ExpertMode. Where I live, there's routinely multiple signals present, and this gives me best-odds.
Pilot Highway
I play loud music when i drive and like they have said it helps me notice if it changes...
Spec Mode or normal mode depending on what mood im in or who else is in the car with me...
I switch between H.> (for the same reasons as tsi+wrx), or voltage display (I'm a geek!). Almost always spec mode. Rarely expert. Only once normal!
