    Default Constant K-band hit alert

Hi. I live in Belmont, CA and work at Livermore, CA. I had noticed since last week that the K-band hit increased along this route. I travel on 93 at Hayward and exits trought Castro Valley, as soon as I go up the ramp at Groove Way I get high hit of K-band and will stay for a long time. Also has a hit at Paloverde Rd. junction. At Pleasanton, contant hit 8-10 strength going down before the Foothill Rd junction and this K-band will stay just before I pass the Hacienda Dr.

Going home. As a exit from airway Blvd, Livermore ramp. I get the K-band hit again 7-10 and will stay for at least 2 miles then gone. I also get the same hit at locations at Pleasanton area going home.

Also, going south US101 exit 412, hit is 8-10 constant for like 4 or more miles.

Can a signal with the same frequency stay that long?

    any input is welcome.
    Thank you.

Is it next to a lot of stores, a mall, etc? Sounds like that sort of thing if it's in a congested area.

it's along a major highway and yes you are right, there are malls along the route but what it was not this constant hit before.

I have listed the K-band freq while driving along my route.

    k24.101
    k24.133
    k24.134
    k24.135
    k24.136
    k24.165
    k24.167
    k24.168
    k24.169
    k24.170

    ka33.661
    ka34.172
    ka34.706
    ka34.736
    ka34.737

Which are real threats and which are not? Ka, definitely a threat.

    thanks.

highly doubt the 33.6 and the 34.1 as real hits. The other Ka hits are right in the Stalker range and are probably real. CHP uses only Stalker 34.7Ka and laser. They use no K whatsoever.

All those highways are full of K band drones.
The shot is only supposed to last three seconds or less but occasionally a few get stuck on full time, I think that is what you are getting.

Also keep in mind the 9500I as well as most other RD's hold on to the signal for about 5 seconds or so, and the next drone may be close so it will seem like constant detection.

The drones are speed monitoring devices used for traffic systems such as this one:

    Sigalert

CHP uses nothing but 34.7Ka, so anything between say 34.6 - 34.8 GHz is definitely suspect.

Does CHP also use any K-band RGs?
    Thanks again.
