Default New 8500 x50 Blue OR New 9500i???

I've been reading the reviews and have seen the negative responses about problems with the GPS blocking feature etc.

Is it worth sticking with a brand new x50 blue, or updating to a brand new 9500i?

Looking for everyones opinions..especially those 9500i owners!

First thing is to ask yourself do you need the new features of the 9500i or do you want the new features ?

    A valid question I think.
I've heard a lot of complaints on the 9500i and wanted honest owners opinions.

I've noticed that my old mans original 8500 (non x50) has far fewer false alarms than the current x50. I'm assuming thats due to the higher sensitive antenna. I would like to do away with the automatic doors at places like Stop&Shop and Walgreens. Those false alerts at everyday passes are freak'n annoying. Also, I like the idea that the 9500 has the usb for updates.

If you have the funds then buy the 9500I.Worst case scenario you don't like it and return it under the 30 day mark.

    There’s your answer right there/\

The 9500I is truly an innovative RD and by far one of the best. If you can spend the extra $$ its worth it. If you want the best sensitivity out there but also want the quietest the 9500I is you choice.

These features alone make it worth while:
    TrueLock.
    Speed sensitive auto mode.
    Marking speed traps.
    Voice alerts.
    Multiple bogie expert mode.

Don’t let the 9500I haters scare you. Everything on the 9500I works fine, if you think when you you use it just like any RD.

The 9500i for sure. TrueLock works just fine as long as you don't do silly stuff like locking out door openers by driving right next to them. I always make sure that I am no closer than roughly 150 feet from door openers when I lock them out in order to prevent any possibility of signal oversaturation.

Unless I understood wrong, I thought that you are best off getting as CLOSE to the False Alert signal as possible when locking it out. i.e. - directly in front of a business automatic door sensor. This would provide the most accurate blocking from this specific false alert...as opposed to doing it out by the road that passes it...therefore lessening the chance of blocking out a real threat of the same band that may be just out if the blocking range.

Am I wrong? Cuz what he said is the exact opposite of how I understand it to work.
