Default ZR4 for sure, should I do 9500ci or 9500i

I read a review ( I think in here) that the reviewer thought the best combo was the 9500i and the ZR4. I read today that the 9500i doesn't auto lock out false signals??

Local shop has a 9500i waiting for me, then planning on having them install jammers when I get back from vacation. The auto lock feature sounds nice, won't have to mess with doing it manually. I also read that there may be a software update for the 9500i which would allow this feature? Am I making too much out of the autolock?

If I get the "i" is the only location for the detector up by the rearview mirror?

Haven't had a radar detector in 20 years... sorry for naive questions...

    Thanks, mike

I have both and the 9500ci kicks the 9500i's butt in detection sensitivity. The autolock feature works great. The fact that I don't have to remove my RD everytime I go into the mall is cool also. If you can afford it, I think you will be better off with the 9500ci. The only thing you lose is portability. Here is my 9500ci:

Just do the 9500ci. ZR4 and 9500I is what i might be doing because i have a 9500I already, but the ci is a better choice if you can do it.

What is the ci compared to the i though? Is the ci the same as the 9500i but smaller? That is probably something I should of picked up by now :0

That is interesting. Has the 9500ci been compared to the others yet or are GOL still working on it?

You can bet your a$$ that the 9500ci will be included in the next GOL RD test.

Here is the deal if money is not an issue since you are already getting a jammer installed, might as well just get the 9500ci.

save up, get the 9500ci, better sensativity, better filtering(through auto lockout), undetectable, AND remote mounted, and it'll only be like 600 more

well worth it to me, but i could never afford it
