Do you guys approach other Escort owners if you see one in the windshield?

As I was pulling into a spot at Schnucks tonight after the gym, I look up and see a Subaru something. WRX maybe. Had a lot of stuff on it so I guess it was the higher up one. Of course in a car like that I had to look for a RD and in my quick glance I saw one. 8500 for sure and my guess is an X50. Driver was with his woman and looked like a younger guy (can I say that at almost 21 myself?) so I didn't say anything. Had it mounted on the left side of the w/s medium height. Right now I am in our LS400 which is black and has a 12% tint the way round so I doubt he saw mine mounted up high but the cord would of given it away.

Had he not been with his chick I may of talked to him about it. Just wondering if you guys are like that too? I am for sure with my cars.

I have before and people think I'm crazy. I've only talked to car guys about it and they mostly own V1's. I try talking to car enthusiats al the time.

I talk to other 8500 owners to give them tips on RD use, but thats only cuz im related to them.

I feel like most RD users aren't as enthusiastic...they just have a valentine or escort because they know its the top of the line. If its hardwired though..thats a different story

Ouch where did that come from!

Most of the time I see them is at night or maybe during the day if I am at a light and get bored and look around. I saw one in a newer Civic once and he had it up high and I saw his speedo and it said 57 and I was doing about 59 and the PSL was 60. LOL! We were both playing it safe on a Friday night!

hardwiring separates the men from the boys..i have seen an M3 hardwired as well as a M5

Yes, I have tried this, but every time I have actually got a decent conversation going, they eventually start going on about how it detects cops. It truly angers me when someone buys a decent piece of equipment and knows nothing about it. I had one guy tell me once "I have no idea why it detects some cops, but not others, maybe I should have purchased a Cobra"

I then informed him about RD.net. Hopefully he found it and actually researched some info.

I just taught a class in St. Louis a few weeks ago. Technical stuff for an investment firm. Anyway, my students were actually comparing stories about getting robbed on the streets in St. Louis.
