I know escort is charging ~$130 for the upgrade to ix, I was just curious who is actually doing this now or are most people just waiting for some reviews of the ix before they jump on it?
Sending my 9500i in for upgrade
Waiting for reviews of ix

I'm going to sneak in my 8500 and when they send me back what I have I'll call and raise hell. ' I sent in a brand new 9500i and you sent back an 8500 with rev. 13. How dare you!!!!! I demand two 9500ix's!'
Personally I would wait to see what it does. I know of two traffic cameras where I live and that is it. Not to say there aren't more but I don't think there are a lot more.
If I were in an area west of here that thrives on speeders and traffic cams and not having your insurance card more up to date (that gets me the most) then I would have it done for sure, just not right away.
Still though, I see this as the future of radars. That is until I invent the 9500Ed that tells you what direction the source is from. Who needs arrows when you have my voice saying 'SOUTH!'
I currently have no need for the ix...
I'm more than happy with my 9500i and Cheetah GPS-Mirror combo. No need to pay for Trinity updates - a *big* pro when going with the SpeedCheetah (along with their customer-service).
I'll wait until a bit more has been said about the AutoLearn feature, before I convert.
*If* I convert at all, that is.
Now, if the ix was somehow enabled to locate the source of the RADAR signal, like the V1........![]()

Old 9500i is going in for the upgrade soon as I get the new one. Will reuse the new one's packing materials to do it.
Just spoke to them (David). Upgrade is $129.95 and turn-around is two weeks. You do need a SON (Service Order Number) on the outside of the box and enclose a check. Got mine!
Blue one for car. Red one for bike. (I think I can see red one in daylight better.)
Woo-hoo!![]()
Aside, didn't think about the 3 years (if that's what it is) worth of traffic stuff downloads for the older one to be updated. I already have a one year ($19.95) for the new one. Maybe I can get 4 years worth of upgrades if I call them back on it when they all show up?
Hope they aren't key-locked to a individual detector like Garmin does with their map software.
