9500i Voice

When the voice on my 9500i goes on there is a very very hight pitch noise as well. Is this normal???? Thanks guys

Probably has to do with the speaker? Almost like a feedback since it is a real small thing I am sure.

Is there a way to turn that voice off? My buddies RX65 would talk and I didn't like it. By the time it beeped I would look down and see the band. No need to tell me! All it would do is make me more nervous especailly if it was high bars!

One of 3 things.

Electronic noise in your car that’s getting amplified. Buy a noise filter at RS.

When the recording was made for the 9500I there was a high pitch noise in the background but most people cant here it.

I don’t here any real high pitch noise out of my 3 9500I's, its not perfect but certainly no high pitch. Try exchanging it if the noise filter doesn’t work.

yeah im not exactly sure what it is. It almost sounds as if it should be there. It's only when the lady is talking and it sounds more of like a high pitch interference and happens whether the car is on or not.

One other 9500I owner complained about the same thing and exchanged it 2 times. He spoke to Escort and thay were very surprised he herd the noise, they confirmed it was there but no one ever actualy herd it before.

Thats weird because I have had the same problem with other devices before. Maybe I am just one of those people who are able to hear it. My buddy just bought one so I'll take a look at his and see if his does the same thing.

My IX does the same thing but...i actually like it, I listen to my music really loud and even at full volume I can't hear the lower strength alerts some times...but I CAN hear the High pitched sound so I hear a high pitched sound and I look at the rd, works for me but odd it is

Alright, it's by no means really annoying or anything. I just wanted to get it fixed if it wasnt supposed to be there because of the fact that a $500 radar detector shouldn't be malfunctioning.

I've heard a bit of a audio hiss around the voice when it cuts in (I use the earphone with a helmet when riding a motorcycle). I just attribute it to the audio amplifier's background noise level. It's not as noticeable through the speaker.

On my bike, it will override the Mp3 songs playing and cut it. The slight hiss tells me the radar unit is going to tell me something.
