Default My X50's immune to cobras now?

I've been noticing my X50 hasn't been going crazy on Ka when ever I drive past a cobra user, or get next to one at a redlight. The first cupple times I thought they didn't have their cobra plugged in or something, but now it's like everytime I get close to one there's no alert. I even took my X50 off the mount at a redlight and pointed it strait at a cobra and no alert. Not a bad thing at all I'm just wondering if anyone might know why it started doing this, it still detects radar just fine - I was under the impression that the belscorts don't have any type of Ka filtering..or do they?

Only exception is if I turn POP on (of course)

That'd be funny if the owner saw you pointing your X50 at him and drove away in shame lol.

I've thought the very same thing. I've passed Cobras and been next to them and it is silent. Is it only certain types?

I think the leakage varies greatly form unit to unit, due to manufacturers variance. You've probably just been lucky lately.

Yeah the cobra user did give me this wtf look as he was driving off but I just laughed as I remounted the X50.

    ^ +1.

I honestly don't think that your Rev5 would suddenly be "unlearning" its true behavior - the propensity to false to leaky detectors.

I know that my 4307 9500i is leaps and bounds ahead of my Rev5 x50 in terms of rejecting falses from leaky detectors, but even it is not immune.

The only detector I have that regularly detects Cobras is my newer Cobra. It seems to be Cobras that are a few years old or the little cheapy ESD 7000 aka ESD 737 that make the most falses. But anyway, I've run that new 9940 that Cobra sent me a few times and it picks up regular falses somewhere in the Ka band in areas that neither my 955 or 8500 get. I've gone by the same spots w/ the 8500 in spec mode and nothing happens.

My 8500 does false Ka, but not with any great regularity. Same with the 955. WIth these two detectors, I know that 9 times out of 10, a Ka alert is real.
