Because the pop upgrade was a hardware upgrade not a software upgrade and I really don't think Escort is trying to skrew anyone out of anything. So they are not perfect this has nothing to do with them skrewing people out of there money like you and others have said.

When the KU upgrade comes out it shoulrd be a software upgrade so we will see.

OK, then give me 1 example of escort EVER upgrading. They said "never obsolete" when new threats emerge on the 8500 box. So far, 1 new threat came out and my detector is obsolete to it. So, your opinion about Escort is 100% opposite of what their history dictates. So, I base my opinion on experience, what do you base yours on? Do you know the people calling the shots over there? Are you a decision maker? Have they decided to change corporate philosophy? A new threat emerged and they decided to put engineering resources into creating a new product, rather than upgrading the 8500. Why was Valentine able to solve pop with a new software version? At that time, Escort had the "best detector in the world" before the X50, right? If it was better than the V1, why is it that V1 solved pop with just a software tweak. I beg the question, here. It is because the wat V1 runs things it is cost effective to optamize the the current product. Escort's bread is buttered by introducing new models.

Experience?. Well I,am sorry your having issues with Escort but like I said before when the pop mode upgrade came out they had to make it in the Ant, so this would be a hardware issue not a software upgrade and I,am sorry that your having issues understanding this.

I have had my own experience with the 8500/8500X50 amd all of them have been nothing short of good.

Like I have already said when the KU upgrade comes out it will be a software upgrade so you can just send it back to Escort in they will send it back to you as soon as they can and they will not charge you for the upgrade if you have the Extended Service Plan.

As you know SML has reported in the 2005 test that the V1 did not see pop mode at all on the KA band so how can you say that Valentine solved the pop mode issue when indeed SML proved the V1 did not see pop?.

Now hows that for experience?.

OK, so now that you have resorted to personal insults in order to detract attention from the fact that you are wrong, let me point this out, plainly and clearly:

1) I don't care if the radar POP is a hardware upgrade for Escort. I bought the 8500 and they said it would never be obsolete to new threats. A new threat came out and instead of using engineering resources on fixing the 8500, they took the easier and more profitable way out and created a new model. They PROMISED a POP upgradefor the original 8500 within 6 months of the release of the X50. If you don't believe this, call them and ask. Apparently, the engineers over there know it can be done, but the project was canned fro whatever reason.

2) I give SML not much credability anymore when it comes to testing detectors and laser countermeasures. They reported a few years ago that Blinder jammed Stealth mode. Blinder openly admits now that the Xtreme series can not and never have jammed Stealth mode. SOunds like they are in bed with eachother.

I think I'd rather have the original 8500's Ka range than POP detection.

I have an 8500 non X50. Will escort offer a La Stealth mode upgrade for the laser detection???? Or, will they just introduce the Escort 9500 and skrew the 8500 owners AND the X50 owners.

They are going to screw you with LA Stealth to buy the 9500 and then about 6 months later they are going to screw you again when KU band comes out so you can buy the 10500. I know people said KU is upgradeable but I do not believe ANYTHING Escort says after dealing with them on my x50. I will apologize when they offer the upgrade. :? :?

Perfect, I have a .45 cal and a .357 sig and I could always use extra rounds of .40 caliber. All Glock models. It looks like I will be going to Mississippi next week so I might need some. My NC concealed weapons permit allows me to carry concealed in MS as well. I spoke to a guy down there today and night time is very dangerous.

This is not and never has been a personal insult to you I was giving you my opinion on how I feel nothing more and nothing less. I,am sorry that you feel this way but you are wrong.

For the Record I,am not wrong about anything I said and I stand by my opinion %100 as I,am sure you do yours.

What you don't seem to understand is the fact that the ONLY reason why all of us 8500 owners could not send it back to Escort for the pop upgrade was because it was a HARDWARE upgrade not a SOFTWARE upgrade and this is the point I have been trying to make. Yes I was not even happy about spending $362 [after tax] on my X50 but let me tell you in my opinion its worth every penny to upgrade to the X50. You make it sound like Escort wants to skrew all of us and this is not true and if you would take the time to understand this then maybe you might be willing to give Escort one more try?. I really don't care if you do or do not I,am just trying to tell you whats true and whats false.

AS for the SML test remember the SML test is and ALWAYS has been the most trusted expert test out there and they are about as un biased as any test can get and there results show me each and every year why they are the best. You see SML,s testing is like no other test as they don't get paid off by any R,D company like some others and not only that but there testing is done by cops people who use radar and laser every day so thats more then good anuff for me. I would trust SML over any other expert test for these and many other reasons.
