Default Can anyone tell me about the Solo S2 ?

I'm looking to find a good radar detector to use on the motorcycle and truck while driving around the Dallas area and out on the hiways. Didn't know if I would be sacraficing performance by going cordless? If so was hoping to get suggestions on a unit that might work well for the cycle and truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. txguy_next_door Thanks

The Solo S2 had/has meger performance compared to wired detectors. Your best bet is to go with an X50 and hardwire it into your bike then install a seperate hardwire in your truck. It would be a good idea to wire a speaker into your helmet as well.

If you get a Valentine One you get the cord and the hardwire kit in the same bundle. Then you can hardwire one and cord the other at no extra cost.

Solo 2 is about as good as putting a rock on your dashboard and drawing a on / off switch.

    For that price range I'd pick up a X50 or a V1.

Just hardwire it... the solo 2 with no speaker will be completely useless on a bike. This was my set up which I later changed to the 9500i:

    Hi txguy_next_door,

You also might want to have a good look at the TPX waterproof radar detector which is manufactured by Adaptiv Technologies. The TPX is specifically made for bikes. I was fairly impressed with its performance at SML 2008, and I was thoroughly impressed with its engineering and unique design features for bikers. If I was a biker then I would use a TPX over a Solo any day.
