9500ci dual head rear setup / placement

Ok so I bought an extra rear jamming head for my 9500ci. This way It will be a 4 head 9500ci. Hopefully it will increase my rear protection some. I have a SRX remote that has a splitter that lets you plug 2 jamming heads into 1 jamming port. Thus giving me 2 rear jamming ports.
The problem is the Infiniti M35x I am driving has a rear backup camera from the factory. If I place at the outer edges of the trunk lid. The left head is slightly blocked by the camera. I don’t know if that is a problem.
I can lower the heads and use the stock license plate bolt to retain part of the head.

I think Roy said once if you put 2 in the back it will actually make it worse.

I am wondering if you split the rear port into 2 heads will there be enough juice to fire 2 heads correctly?

Well the fronts on the ZR3 go from one jack to a splitter, and it seems about the same as the ZR4 in jamming capabilities.

But that placement is bad. Its amazing how much a lip like that will effect your jamming abilities. You want the head out flush with anything around it, so you need to bring it out 2" or so, but then that camera looks like it's in the way.

AND, those tail lights are HUGE. You be likely to get a JTG with a good jammer, let along dual ZR4 rears.

I honestly don't know - part of that has to do with the LED setup of the jammer in-question, but in terms of the LI, all that's needed is a few degrees of clearance, and the emitter then becomes the limiting factor, which is not what I see to be the case, with this particular setup, if it were, say, an LI dual Slim rear.

sstarkey, with respect to your tail-lights being a huge beacon, I agree totally with REB.

Close-in, you're going to be toast, but I think that once you get out a few hundred feet, you actually might be fine.

A part of the problem I see, with your setup, now, though, is that the pictures, it seems to me that you've got your receiver area close-in to the plate.

Due to your rear tail-light configuration, I'd reverse that, so that the receiver bubbles are as outboard as possible.

I also don't know how much of a potential problem the rear-view camera may be.

It certainly looks like it's going to block some reception as well as jamming output, but my other concern is what happens to the jamming output "reflected" from its backing - and back into the receiver of the ZR4 head on that side.

Will that confuse the jammer, into putting out an improper jamming signal?

sstarkey: If the rear is equipped with 2 (two) ZR4 rear sensors, ie., designed for the rear, all will be fine. Conversely, if you used 2 (two) front shifters to protect the rear, that should be fine as well. However I believe there was some discussion a while ago regarding poorer overall performance with regard to front protection on a vehicle equipped with 2 front shifters & 1 rear shifter (mounted around the front plate).

Recently I tested this theory on a friend's car. He has a 2009 Nissan GTR equipped with ZR4 system. Since rear targetting is not used in his area, he had all three shifters mounted on the front of his car - two within his grill and and the third beneath his front license plate. Though this is not exhaustive, nor conclusive by any means, we were able to obtain better performance by using the 2 front shifters only. The addition of the rear shifter mounted in the front degraded performance in his case. He has since removed that shifter.

Just a word of advice, rear shifters on your particular car, cannot be hidden and are very visible for LEOs to spot. Generally speaking, if you are pulled over, SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) is to check the front and rear tags to make sure they match, regardless of the original offense you may have been pulled over for. I would advise that you paint the chrome horizontal piece on your rear (just below the Infiniti badge) black to allow the rear shifters to blend in. Otherwise, the contrast between the chrome rear horizontal trim and two black shifter pods is too great.
