Default Looking For Black Suction Cups?

LEO's report thieves will look for suction cups as a sign of a GPs or RD and perhaps break in to see. It don't matter if you have nothing hanging from it, they look anyway.

I mount mine up high and it looks like black cups would be less visible. Anyone ever see any black ones?

I believe Cobra detectors use black cups.

yea man. email Cobra support from their website....they sent me two black suction cups that fit my Escort mount perfect...and its virtually impossible to see the mount with or without the detector attached when you mount it behind your rear view

I also ordered my stealthier black cups from Cobra, $3 total IIRC.

Unfortunately my GTI has no tint strip which is excellent for hiding suction cups. The black ones are still visible, just less so.

    RK- "Corky"? That's just wrong...

It's the best thing Cobra offers!

Not Corky, "the retarded policman" - he's a celebrity on youtube...and I think its fitting.

Hey Doc - what rev are your X50s? I'm wondering what Rev or S/N they changed to the more drastic rampup...and I want another first version!

^^ I'll have to check later, I do know the blue X50 was made in '06 and the red is only a few months old. The ramp up is identical in both (the slow ramp up that everybody loves).

I just did the $80.00 trade in on a x50 blue for the 9500ix and am glad I did. It's frighteningly silent in the cab now around town.

Went into Atlanta today and the ramp is fine. Very progressive.

    I don't miss the x50.

"frightening" is the perfect word for it!
I know the iX sports the newer lockout radius and autolearn, but be careful from someone that has seen lockouts that easily could've resulted in tickets.

I was running the 9500i and V1 at the same time on either end of the windshield just for shts & giggles...and I got a K band alert from the V1 and not a peep from the i. I was like "damn! its a LOT more sensitive" till I realized that it was locking out an LEO from the 1 lockout location that I'd left stored in the detector. I was probably 1/2 mile from the false and the Escort just kept spinning away while the V1 was blaring away to the oncoming LEO.

Everytime I miss the "i" I'll just think about how useless the marked locations and lock outs were to me.

I am sorry to tell you, but opposite sides of the windshield is not far enough to avoid interference. The Escort/bels suffer on K band when another detector is running at the same time.

I tested the V1 and and a Bel and the Bel did not alert to a normal K band false either.
