Default looks like non x50 would be my backup detector

I looked at the gol test and some old theards and found out that non x50 are pretty good on 35.5. I also found out that escort has an ebay store and they are selling refurb non x50 8500 for 149 with warrenty. I think since iam buying it from the escort ebay store it would be safe to buy on ebay. I just had one question, is my statement true about the non x50s being good on 35.5 ka band.

Default Re: looks like non x50 would be my backup detector

I was going to recommend a "plain" 8500 as a good backup unit. I got from from craigsl*** a month ago for $60.00. It is rev.15 which I think was the last (latest) revision for the 8500. It is an excellent backup detector. Heck, I find myself running the 8500 more often than I thought I would. It's OK on x band, almost scary (NOT GOOD) on k band, and excellent on Ka band. The locals in a neighboring town run eagles at 35.5 mh and the 8500 is as good as my V1 in detecting this band. I almost think the 8500 might even be a little better with forward facing 35.5. You made a good choice.
