    Default Small town speeder.

I live in a pretty small town 18k pop.. The cops are like your dad's friend at church or the guy that everyone knows and talks to when he pulls 'em over.. They're pretty stupid. Forgive me for saying this but I owned a cobra. But i'm laying it to rest after two weeks. It sucks. No if and buts about it. IT SUCKS. Around the corner, over the hill, anything, it sucks and it falses more than other people talk about my speed when riding with me. But i've got my eyes on a used 8500 x50. How good is the range? To get to my house I have to drive on a 3 mile stretch of highway. Will this detector keep my out of the courthouse? Or am I going to have to put an attorney in my fav 5?

GREAT first post. Tons of figurative language and writing technique; varying sentence structure is also a plus. Overall I give you an A. What kept you from an A+ was your lack of capitalization and improper use of numbers.

Oh yea, the 8500 x50 should serve you well if that's all you drive.

I'm fresh in the game. I got a ticket one night and was quick enough to beat the cop out of getting my speed. I just got cited for 'dangerous speed' because he saw brake lights and I was overtaking. Kinda made me think I should just eliminate something like that by getting a condom for my car. What would be a good backup for that in the $100-$250 range?

X50 is a good detector. Will he get extra credit for selling his Cobra?

    Extra credit was already included.

From what I've heard the x50 should do fine for what you're describing, but I've never owned one.

The worst I've seen is on the way to a city 40 miles from here a sheriff was using what I believe to be a laser on the other side of a hill. I will be getting a laser jammer when I get up to par on my savings. But other than that I've just seen troopers in their car trying to shoot from the other side of the road. How much would you need to detect that? I mean c'mon. But thanks.

The X50 is kind of like the Chevrolet of radar detectors. It will serve you well.

It isn't that they COME defective, it's just that you don't know where the original owner got it from. If they got it from ebay, you've got no warranty and chances are SOMETHING doesn't work as it's a 'refurb'.

    That was brilliant...

You're getting a THANKS, just for making me laugh out loud (and ok, maybe a little milk came out of my nose).
