I'm also impressed swarga. I have a HUD in my caddy, and I'm sure it would work in my car also. I just bought a V1 yesterday. If it's not to involved I may be able to do it. Email me if you want. Thanks.
According to Swarga it was not cheap or easy!
Valentine One (3.858 Ice Cream Truck, 3.812 in Vette)
4 Head LI (On Vette) (7.11 CPU Regular heads front, HP Heads on the rear)
9500ci (On Vette)
LI Quad (On Ice Cream Truck)
LI Dual (On SRX, 7.06 CPU)
ProLaser II, ProLaser III, Stalker LZ-1, LTI Marksman & Laser Atlanta "R" (looking for an Ultralyte LRB)
2008 Corvette Z-51 Coupe
Escort 9500 ix (Cadillac SRX)
It's taken me almost a year of (part-time) work plus at least $1000 in parts, tools, and other costs to get this far. To me that's neither easy nor cheap.
Here's an outline of what I did: http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...tml#post508640
As for getting it to work with the Cadillac HUD, I wouldn't be so sure. GM has a nasty habit of using completely different electronics in different models of cars, and sometimes even in the same model of car. For example, the 2009 Corvette uses a completely different OnStar module than the 2008s did, and mounted it in a completely different location. Unless the HUD in your Cadillac is exactly the same as the one in the C6 Corvette, then it's going to take a significant amount of effort to make the HUD-One work with it.
