I have been doing a little research here and there on how they work with the later models. I also have been using an old early 90's Cobra X and K band radar for 4 years now. That was passed down to me along time ago from a familer member that claims it doesn't work. I figured out that it does work only against X and K bands with plenty of false alerts.
Right... I understand where u coming from. There is a saying that people say "You got to know the system to beat the system". I would like to know in how to use all laser and radar with hands on experience. And then know learn how to defend against radar and laser. I have seen how one particular radar works monitoring 4 cars 1. coming toward you 2. the 2nd to the fastest car in front 3. the fast car in front 4. the car behind. I think its called Spector(misspelled) i could be wrong. I know I can't purchase the radar and laser systems the LEO are using. No one is going to teach me how to the systems unless I join the LEO. The only thing I can do is to read and get my hands on a RD and Laser for hands on experience. Believe me if I was losing money I would not be doing this. At the end I think its going to cost me at least maybe $1500 for a good complete system. "But yet its still not ticket proof and never will" I just had to mention that part cuz I don't want people to think I'm some kinda speed irresponsible driver that is careless.

While having the best equipment does help, the understanding of how police use their tools is much more important.
