CHP use 34.7 almost exclusively as far as radar is concerned.

CHP has an exclusive contract with Applied Concepts, the company that makes the Stalker. So, CHP uses only 34.7Ka and laser.

Who uses 34.7? the following Highway Patrols I know of. All these use it exclusively , California,Utah,Wyoming, Kansas,Texas,Missouri,and the following use a mixture of 34.7,35.5 and k. Nebraska,Oklahoma. Colorado uses mostly 35.5, some 34.7 and a few X and k band units still alive.

It is also quite common here in NY. Troopers use it almost exclusively and about 60% of the locals also used 34.7. I would say 95% or more of my encounters are stalker.

Escort was thinking when they make there RD's, if a particular band is used more than any other why not tweak it instead of being the king of something that is allot less likely to encounter.

Yes, sometimes it's 15 or 20 seconds. Off axis is not even close.

YES BIG difference. For me it is up to 5 to 10 seconds

I agree. I have seen a 20% change in humidity noticeably affect the alert range to K band door openers around town. And keep in mind that Ka band is even more severely affected by atmospheric humidity.
