Default Help! I need to clear the lockouts....

How do I clear all of my lockouts?

I have let the 9500ix do its own thing, and now every time I drive through a known lockout point it quickly locks out any new signal. We have a rather secluded area with a know door opener (this has beeped my radar for years). I was happy when the 9500ix finally blocked that door opener and quit beeping at this location.

Later that same day (4th time past this location) I passed a leo there and I looked at the detector to see that it had locked out the leo. This was the first time I passed him there!

Now every time I pass a leo in that location it adds them to the lockout. This is quite annoying and dangerous for two reasons. First the speed transitions from 65 to 35 there. Second right across the road from the known bad signal (auto doors) is our police station! I am slowly locking out every patrol car in that location as they come out.

This is NOT a area where I want to be blind to their radar! This also worries me because of another known speed trap area on my regular route home. A door opener has created a lockout in this location and I need to clear this crap before it starts locking out the real radar here. Poor road conditions has kept the speed traps away for now, but they will be coming soon and I don't want to start this here as well.

How do I clear out the current lockouts so I can start fresh and do it manually?

    Download Escort's v1.4 Detector Tools.

    It's in there.

    Or:

Hold the “SEN”, “BRT” and MUTE buttons at the same time. Then press the “GPS” button to confirm. This will erase all lock outs.

My recommendation for new ix owners is only use AutoLock for a few weeks to lock out your most passed falses than turn it off and lock out manually. Unless your in a No Risk area or possible a Low Risk area.

Also if there was a false at that LEO lock out if you unlock the false it will unlock all frequency’s ever lock out at that area, including the LEO’s.

^ Doh! That's right! I forgot that they also made that change on the latest round of things, for the ix.

No "need" to go hook-up the detector to the computer, any more, for this task!

Good pickup on that one, CJR.

    Cool! I will do that.

I don't recommend that anyone run with auto. That is what got me into this mess!! Just lock it out when you can verify that there is no leo around. Now I have a hard time trusting it when its quiet.... not good.

    Thanks for the help!!

Yep. I agree. Auto is fine while you let a 9500ix initially learn your false alerts along your normal driving routes. But after that, turn off AutoLearn and take control yourself.

Just remember if a lock out is K 24.150 and a LEO is also running K 24.150 in the same spot the ix can see it as one in the same. So be aware of any alerts you get before the lock out. (The 9500 series doesn't cry wolf) A LEO's radar should be much stronger and go much further than the falses so you should get alerted before it turns into the false lock out area and spinning icon.

To embrace technology is not to blindly except/trust it. We must always question technology but never be afraid to use it, (and make it work for us personally).

You should always be aware/attentive when in a lock out area. There are many things a LEO can do to give you a ticket without using radar.

I'm still running AutoLock and its doing ok, I just need to do allot more testing. But im probably going to turn it off once I have confirmed how and when it unlocks signals.
I have to say im really enjoying highway mode and auto-noX with the below 20mph muting, its pretty awesome.
