I also believe (I think I saw it in one of Bel's Patents) that the X50 and RX65 "self calibrate" during each POST (Power on self test). Which is why I always keep it on the full Power-up sequence and not the Fast Power-up sequence.Originally Posted by aust3333
The RX65 self calibrates every couple hundred milliseconds in normal usage if I'm not mistaken. Hmmm.... I wonder what kind of a difference would I see if I went to the full POST instead of the quick POST. I would think that I would not see too much or any change considering how the RX65 self calibrates periodically anyways. Interesting though.Originally Posted by ES13Raven
My 8500 just started giving me the self cal and it's only when it's cold and my truck has to crank a little harder to get started. I'm glad that i found out that u have to let the self cal go through. I thought that it calibrated it self when you powered it back up.
I installed a switch in my car which has the ability to turn on and off the cigarette lighter.. so I just make sure im only turning the detector on and off while the car is running.
