Escort 9500ci Shifter Always on

Just out of curiosity do the shifters shift continuously or do the start to shift immediately upon detection of a laser source when set to shifting in the preferences?

When they start to detect laser they start to fire back. You can test this out by going outside at night with a camera (cell phone camera will work) and turn your system and car on. Take a remote control (uses infrared light) and have your cell phone looking at your jammers, press buttons on your remote and look at your shifters light up through the cell phone.

Do not be eye-level with the jammers though when you do this because even though you can't see any light with your naked eye they can still do serious damage close-range.

I asked this question because in one of the videos I saw I thought I noticed light emanating from the shifters. Don’t remember the brand but seeing as I am looking for a stealthy installation I would be concerned if there was any type of light coming from the cars grill.

All laser jammers/shifters, upon detecting a laser gun, emit infrared energy which your eyes can't see. There is no visible light whatsoever which is emitted by any laser jammer/shifter.
