    Default Suction cups fell...

    I was mounting my detector higher and I put it on the mount, and the suction cups gave way and my detector fell do you guys think theres any damage? it seems to be working fine...

    find a local speed sign or automatic door and see if the detector picks up the signal

    I've had several Escort units fall off over the years with no damage.

    However, it doesn't hurt to try it on known alert sites to be sure, as the previous post recommended.

    Also, I find that it's best to hardwire in the RD, because there is no pull on the suction cups from the portable coiled power cord.

    Additionally, if the hard wire comes from the above the RD, if the cups do fail, the RD will generally dangle from the hard wire and will not hit the floor or dash.

    Well I still pick up things fine, do yall think the range was affected or anything?

    Exactly. Although its better than hitting the dash I do hate the handful of times I've walked out to my car with my RD hanging in plain view.

    Don't worry, i have heard of RD's falling out of windows in moving cars and still working.

    No, since there are no trim pots on the circuit boards inside your radar detector. All calibration is automatically done by the firmware.
