like the detector itself; TrueLock is a tool
Perhaps our expectations are a bit unrealistic. The purpose of TrueLock is the reduction of THE ANNOYANCE of falses thru the establishment a history*, NOT a more discriminating detection process. This is why there are choices of operating mode, "how much awareness do you want to surrender to the technology?" as errors are destined to occure.
Having to eagle-eye a VERY SMALL icon to see EXACTLY when it stops 'spinning' is hardly adequate warning for impending DISASTER. Given the 'low resolution' of the database, a subtle audio warning should be an option.
Auto-Sensitivity is a great feature, altho not suitable for Blazing thru a school zone as the speed threshold for transition to 'all out sensitivity' is way above any school zone speed limit. For average driving, especially in a new area, it's a very useful feature.
IMHO: mastering, and taking full advantage of, all of the 9500's capabilities results in way more brain-cell usage than the original(as reported by V-1) falses themselves . . . so consistant[Linear] is the V-1, that deviations in these 'falses' can be readily recognized for what they are, with less effort AND risk.
*History: awareness of an area of consistant known-to-be-falses. This awareness is either a consequence of personal experience "I drive by it every day" or the 9500ix's automated AutoLearn capability.
