8500 NON X50 from escort- Whats your taughts for the people who bought it?

Iam thinking about buying one because of its great 35.5 ka band sensitiviy. But I keep hearing mix ideas that they break down very fast. So this is a question for the people who bought the 8500 from escorts ebay store. How do you like it, does it work as new, has it give you any problems, and how is the performance on it.

As far as "breaking down", just don't leave it baking in the hot sun on your windshield. I take mine down everytime I park and put it in the glove box (even if I park in a parking deck).

X2. Excess heat can kill any radar detector or eventually lead to problems over time.
