My 9500ix

I started using my 9500ix yesterday and I am not sure if it is working properly or not...It is very silent when it comes to falses....The only real encounter I have had was on HWY33 in Lakeland tonight..I was heading north and the Leo was heading south...There was a slight curve and with a few cars in front of me and I only got about 1500 ft alert before I saw the LEO coming at me...It was 35.5 Ka..Does that sound normal..The curve was only about a 10- 20 degree curve I am guessing.

Well 35.5 is hard to detect and the curve sure doesnt help at all. Do you have ver 1.1 ? i cant say for sure but once i upgraded to 1.1 on my ix the range seemed like it was really bad for ka. I took my ix back to best buy and got a new ix now it seems to be fine. Im running ver 1.0 now (i tihnk) . i wouldnt think the software with the ix would have anything to do with it but you never know. Im staying at 1.0 as it seems to work fine this way. But i have had some really short range with my ix with ka. At frist i thought it might be i/o on. But after couple of weeks it kept doing the same thing. (short range with ka) If you never get long range with your ix with ka you might wanna send it in to escort and have them look at it.

How do I check version?

You cant check the version their is know way of doing this unless you just upgrade to version 1.1 then you know you have 1.1 I think i got a ix with 1.0because the sales guy at best buy said the ix i got has be sitting their since the frist of 2009. and ink 1.1 just came out not to long ago. But ever since igot a new ix it has been a little better with ka. Again not 100% sure here but once i did get a new ix it seemed like it had better range. I just got a v1 and i like the range better on this and my v1 doesnt flase much more then my ix with gps off

The date code is 4208 so it was built in 2008..So it should be 1.0 then...Can I update the database without changing to 1.1

You can update your database that shouldnt be a problem. But i wouldnt update to 1.1 i would stay with 1.0 as long as you can . You might want to chat with member Z1NONLY on this form here. He was having problems with his ix as well and he prob knows more then i would. And i hope he doesnt mind me thorwing his name out their but he seems to know his stuff.

I sometimes get alerts that suck so bad on Ka I am sure that the X50 was better. However, they have all been 34.7 (I think) with FHP and my last 35.5 encounter was great. Sometimes I wish I had a V1 though...

I have 2 STi-Rs sitting in my office..Maybe I should sell my 9500ix and put a STi-R back in with my V1. Will my MEM-TEK MOD Zr4 work with STi-R.

That sucks!!! Even at my Dealer price it isn't worth crap with that kind of detection.

I paid right around $300 for mine when I worked at best buy. It was supposed to be cost+5%.

So bottom line can someone give me some average specs on range I can expect from the IX...Can I count on it saving me....I like silents when its not a real threat but need to feel that it is going save me....I have a V1 but I wanted the 9500ix to integrate with the Zr4 I have coming from MEM-TEK. I have been told I can't run the V1 and 9500ix in the same car.
