Do you use the Expert Meter mode on your Passport RD? Why or why not?

I use the Expert Meter all the time.

Today, I was approaching a Wal-greens and got strong dual K alerts that probably would have over powered the weak Ka that was coming from an approaching LEO.

I use it because I run a V1 on Ka band and it has Bogey counter and my 9500ix I only run K band and use expert so its like have 2 Bogey counters.

I'd run it more if it was combined with spec mode. Spec mode allows me to more quickly identify a false alarm on K or Ka (especially).

I use it more around town if I'm using the X50. If I get a C/O Ka alert, I'll switch it to spec mode just to see what it is. On the highway, its spec mode.

I'm a numbers guy. For some reason, my brain needs to see the frequency. Any time I use anything but spec display, I get annoyed.

On Texas interstates Ka 34.747 is death. So yeah, I couldn't live without it.

It also helps me sort out HPD 35.5 from Harris County constables 33.8. I don't think it helps much for K band.

What you describe is spec mode isn't it?

I always leave mine in spec mode.
