Escort Passport 8500 X50 or something else?

Ive been looking around for a good radar/laser detector. I found the Escort Passport 8500 X50 (red display). The cheapest I can find it is $250 shipped. Anyone know of anyplace cheaper Brand New?

Is there any other radar detectors around $200-300 better than the 8500 escort x50

If laser detection isn't a big issue for you, look at the Bel RX-65. It has superior radar performance, but it's terrible at detecting lidar. It sells for $329 or so, so it's more expensive than the X50.

If you're looking to stay in the $250 range, then yes, the X50 is the absolute best you're going to get, and depending on your needs, it may actually work out better for you than an RX-65 or V1. Though I don't doubt that the V1 is a better detector, the X50 has worked out wonderfully for me thanks to its great filtering.

he manages(or owns) radarbusters.com (retail for radars,laser jammers....)

I think he may have the POWER to offer you a nice deal!

I have had a very good experience with radarbusters.com and 99% of this board would agree with me.

I own both detector's and think the x50 has a slight advantage over the rx65 in radar performance, espically around corners and over hills!
