    Default 9500ix With Beta Firmware

I recently upgraded my 9500i to an ix and got a beta install of the soon to be available firmware update for the 9500 family. It features TSR as a band option. You can read about it on Escort's forums.

I had my 9500i for over two years before i upgraded it, so i had become very familiar with its strengths and weaknesses.

But the 9500ix is another detector altogether. Love the autolearn feature and usually keep the sensitivity in Auto NoX. It's quiet, and from that background of silence, real threats stick out.

Usually, I can now tell when traffic radar is behind me or in front of me--the filtering algorithms seem to be faster. Its response to real threats reminds me of older detectors I've had which filtered very little and annoyed greatly with lots of falses. In contrast, the 9500i's ramping on a signal was audibly and visually vague to me.

In short, it's the detector i hoped for when i bought the 9500i two years ago. Kudos to Belscort, I am very happy.

    nice
    good insight

I keep considering the 'ix' upgrade as[from my experience] TrueLock on the 9500i is beyond useless to the point of being downright dangerous. I bought it for my wife and as luck would have it, the most female-friendly-feature is f*****

Issues regarding AutoLearn on the 'ix' have discouraged me so far, but now that the firmware has been refined I just might take the leap

I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to hear about any experiences with your new toy you'd care to share

I installed the ix in the same low-performance position (center, bottom of windshield) as the 9500i, just to check and compare. I ordered a mirror mount and invisicord to ramp things up a bit in performance.

Houstonians tend to blaze through the EZ-tag lanes in the tollway plazas and they have traffic mon K-band operating usually. The ix had "learned" the location, nonetheless it sniffed out a county cruiser day before yesterday parked just past the plaza using K-band (not Ka-band), which i thought was very sneaky. I wasn't speeding (heavy traffic), so i cant call it a save. Nice to know though.

Well after my extensive testing of AutoLearn I would give it thumbs up. The only thing to keep in mind is the “Risk Scenario” you live in, and if a LEO sits in exactly the same spot 3 times it will take a few passes for it to unlock it.

I'm also excited to try the new Beta Firmware for the 9500IX but can't locate it anywhere. I logged into my account and do not see the file. Can somebody assist me? One other thought about 9500IX, sure wish there was a Setting to turn on or off the SmartMute option. It's a nice idea but I've ran into issues being at stop light and a LEO using KA came up behind me while the K was silently going off. Since I stopped looking at the Graph little did I know when I took off quickly Mr LEO was right behind me and followed my all the way to my work. If I would have heard the KA never would have took off as quick as I did. Regardless, I love to hear the alerts no matter stilling still or moveing along. Think it should be a user option at that. Any input on both would be great!
    Thanks,

OK , here`s my issue. I live in Milwaukee area and travel the same route every weekend. I always pass these 2 specific location that never autolock no matter what. Always it says K band alert ! one is a normal 4 lane ave. and the other one is downtown milwaukee highway 43 going north pass State St.
I know I can lock it manually , but I `m too lazy! LOL!

What’s your speed when you pass the location? How many times have you passed it? is it less than 1mi from your house?

Thanks nyjason13, Can you tell me what the differences are in the beta vs 1.1 release? I understand there is one feature called the TSR. Anything else that you have noticed such as it's behavior on alerts or any other new added features? Anything you noticed would be appreciated to hear. Appreciate your input
