Anyone here return your V1 for a 9500ix?

So I have a couple of days to decide if I should return my V1.

You went through all the trouble of hard-wiring it and now you wanna send it back?

I really love the arrows and bogey counter but I am really like the feature of the autolock and GPS of the 9500ix.

Now to my main concern, has anyone have a similar experience here? Returning the V1 to get the 9500ix instead that is. Did you guys regret it? Did you miss the arrows and bogey counter?

I have both a V1 and a 9500ci. TrueLock and AutoLearn are nice, but if I had to pick one, I'd have to go with the V1. Once you get used to having the arrows, you won't want to do without them.

That's also one reason I want to keep it, after hardwiring it and all. But then again, I can still use my current installation with the IX.

I'm surprised, even I posted here in the Escort threads, majority say that they have missed or went back to V1's.

I let Micah try my V1 and ix while I shot him with a low CM shot. The V1 alerted almost the entire run from about 1k feet to almost point-blank.

The ix was not even close. I think it alerted once (briefly) at the far end of the course.

BTW, I am going on a long road trip through states I have never driven through and wanted the camera protection my ix can provide. After a lot of consideration.....I am buying a C100 just so that I can run my V1 for the trip. It's that good.

Arrows and zombies are hard to live with or without. The big thing is if your here long enough you will eventually own a V1 anyway, its weather you start with it or end with it. Same goes for Belscort.

I've read many customers' reviews on the Cheetah C100 and it's an unbelieveable product if RLC's are a concern for you. The direction based alerts are what really sets it apart.

I was referring to my V1 when I said "It's that good." But I can't wait to try the C100 out against our local RLC's.

Speed cams are my primary concern. I try to avoid running red lights, but it would only take one speed cam on my route....

I've been one of the few that just has never had very good range reception on 34.7 with the V1. The last (3) I've owned were 1.8 hardware versions with the most recent at software version 3.872 I sent the last two in to get checked..........but they came back unchanged. My 8500 x50 with the S7 horn and my 9500i performed much better for me on this band.......which just happens to be used by all the LEOs in my area! I "stalked" the local PD parking lot on many nights doing comparison runs with one detector at a time and the only way the V1 beat the x50 was by turning off the Ka false guard. But without that the number of falses on Ka were intolerable.

I know..........this is contrary to most tests you see by GOL and what most people will tell you. It's just my experience. I love the arrows and the quality is top notch........if yours is performing to your satisfaction I say keep it! The 9500i always seemed to give great range with the exception of extreme off axis as compared to the X50. I'm currently on the waiting list for a RedLine as I'll take every inch of Ka warning I can get . A little sad as the GPS and almost complete lack of falses was growing on me!

Before I get flamed.........I want to reiterate that my experience with the V1 is atypical to what the majority report. Just my bad luck with the V1 and good fortune with Escort I guess. OR........the NYSP have put something in their stalkers to hide from the V1 .

Search youtube on...........Beltronics STi-r V1...........the video by SpeedTrapHunter. Not really a straight up compare of dash mount detectors as it compares the V1 to two remotes (STi-r and the 9500ci). However, the range on the V1 in this video was identical to what I experienced against NYSP on the Thruway. Not that great.

I recently got a pre-pop V1 and I am running it along with my ix. They are about 4 feet apart and, so far, I notice little interference. My 3.812 V1 beats out my 9500ix almost every time on 34.7 GHz Ka. Not in every circumstance and not by a whole lot, but in encounters where raw sensitivity is displayed the V1 beats my 9500ix. The difference on average is about 10-15% although I've seen the V1 absolutely r@pe on it occasion. The difference is detection IMO is greater on K Band. My V1 ALWAYS beats my 9500ix. As a result it gives off a greater number of falses but owns on the highway. It's usually got about a 15-20% advantage over my ix. Both are small but noticeable differences in raw detection.

That being said, I love my 9500ix just as much as my V1. It is a great performer with nifty options only available with the GPS. IMO you can't go wrong with either.

I did see a video on youtube where a 1.8 version was being tested by a LEO in his patrol car using a Stalker DSR 2X. He was actually sneaking a few Quick Trigger pulls in on the V1. In another video he had an older 1.7 V1 model (which he incorrectly thought was newer) and he could not get it to miss a single QT pull. I believe the POP version spends more cycles looking at the POP frequencies of 33.8 and 24.15 slowing down the scan on all other frequencies..........same as the Belscorts.........making it susceptable to missing a QT pull on occasion.

From what I have seen some older V1's don't do well against new Belscorts, even the M4 platform. But when new is compared to new the V1 usually beats the Belscorts by just a bit. IMO the only reason why is the ~.5 second delay the Belscorts have right now.

I actually did the opposite, sold my 9500ix for a V1, no regrets.

I sold my X50 for the 9500i 3 years ago. Used the 9500i for a week, sent it back, got the V1, never looked back.
